Welcome to our community of readers, writers and thinkers. We will meet in this space to gather and share our thoughts.

SCRIBBLED BLUE DREAMS
We expect our dreams to sing and turn chaos into knowledge
Here between the
lines every voice matters. And the walls are not empty anymore. They sing a song scribbled blue

SPOKEN WORD/MURAL RESIDENCY
Students in the literacy arts and ELL reading classes worked with two artists during this residency to explore their own universal themes. Spoken word artist IBé collaborated with students to write individual and choral poems. Visual artist sankaradjeki worked with students to design a mural poem using their own words created from colored tape. Working directly with the artists allowed students the opportunity to communicate in new and unique ways.
I learned how to be creative doing just simple things. O.Z.

The bridges between you and your personal conflicts are built. You confront them with your words, your emotion.
The only thing that matters in any poem is that you put your effort into it. You thought about it deeply and carefully.

I think he is doing a great job with his poems because he write his poems with a piece of his life and that's good because he express himself

All of the students try to write their best so i think all of the poems will be great. i also think that everyone were write their best and write what they think of they life......

well i think Ibe is a great poet and i like how he expresses himself while reciting it and the emotion in his voice
i feel like his pomes are really touching and they really mean something and they are not just a bunch of word that sound alike put together. i also feel like since Ibo read those pomes to us that pomes can really have an effect on you not only as a reader but as an listener. i think Ibo it a great poet and really knows what he is doing as a poet.

Alisha- what matters in a poem is the title of the poem also the effort being put into it. i think so far that poems are another way of presenting lyrics to a song. im wondering why cant poetry & music be the same as in to one title.

what matters in each poem is what the poem is trying to tell you and the expression of feelings in each poem.

i like the poems my favorite poem was the one about the diamonds!!!
I think poetry is some words that have more meaning full. you can write a book in a short poem because it means allot.
I think we could be like Ibe' if i work had, English was his first language when he came here as 15 years old.
I wondering how poems are so meaning full and so understandable. Each poem tells you the expression and feelings of something.
I hope that Ibe will stay the all month and learn more poems.
